My current adventure is a 5 week cruise across the South Pacific from Valparaiso, Chile to Sydney, Australia. I will be visiting Robinson Crusoe Island, Easter Island, French Polynesia, Cook Islands plus a variety of other small islands.
I have learned since starting this blog last April, that it is not something that comes naturally to me. There is so much information that I want to share, but paring it down, making it interesting - just doesn't come naturally to me. Call it the entomologist in me. Fascinated with the smallest items. Plus, at the end of the day, I am just tired. These are once in a lifetime experiences and I don't want to waste a second. Hopefully you and I will be the improvement over time as I continue to learn this medium.
My adventure started early yesterday with a 13.5 hour flight from Dulles to Santiago, Chile. Arriving at my hotel at 1:30 am. After last December's fiasco at the Santiago airport, I was dreading flying in again, but it actually went smoothly. The customs and immigration lines were short and fast. Reminders of Coronavirus were everywhere with signs and masks.
I'm staying at the Mandarin Oriental at the base of the foothills of to the Andes. It is a beautiful hotel and the scenery wonderful. Their staff is amazing. Wonderful customer service. Above and beyond.
